My Grandfather owned and operated a business in designing for the garment industry around New York City and New Jersey. He eventually retired in Vermont, continuing to remotely design for select clients. He specialized in embroidery and lacework. 

When I moved to Vermont, we became really close with one another. He taught me wood burning, the banjo and a slew of life lessons. He introduced me to his embroidery workings - designs I’d never seen before that I couldn’t even begin to understand how they were meticulously put together.

We both knew what lovely tattoos these designs could make. He watched me begin to transform these workings on skin. I remember him saying to me how amazed he was that these intricate designs can be transformed onto the skin - draping in a way that looked like lace garments. He was so impressed, in awe and very proud to pass this lost artwork on in such a way.

When he passed, I was gifted his collection of works and vintage designs that I use to create lifelong  masterpieces with a rich and connected story for my clients.
